DF Internal Nomination Exercise Goes To Greater Masaka

The Democratic Front (DF) is gearing up for its internal return of expression of interest forms, and nomination exercise, shifting focus to Greater Masaka after a comprehensive outreach across various parts of the country.

Scheduled for August 26 and 27, 2025, this crucial event aims to gather aspiring candidates from the region, and solidify the party’s commitment to an open, and democratic selection process.

The DF is poised to engage local talent and perspectives as it prepares for the upcoming 2026 electoral cycle.

On August 22, the DF Electoral Commission Chairperson who is also Secretary for Mobilization, Henry Lubowa, shared the details of the event during a press briefing held at the Party’s headquarters in Namirembe.

He emphasized that the two-day exercise is designed specifically to enable all interested aspirants from Greater Masaka to participate fully because the party seeks to ensure that its process is inclusive, reflecting the democratic values that the DF stands for.

The targeted districts for this nomination exercise include; Masaka City, Masaka Rural, Kalungu, Lwengo, Kyotera, Rakai, Lyantonde, Bukomansimbi, and Ssembabule.

By inviting candidates from these diverse areas, the party officials say, they aim to uncover a broad range of voices that will enrich its candidate pool which approach fosters unity, and representation within the party as they move forward.

They explained that the party’s initiative is not just a formal nomination process, but it is a chance for aspiring leaders to express their interest in serving their communities thus encouraging local leaders, and individuals with a vision for progress to submit their expression of interest forms.

This altogether, opens the door for new ideas, and fresh leadership, crucial for the party as it navigates the political terrain.

As the DF prepares for the internal nomination exercise in Greater Masaka, the party’s focus is on empowering local leaders, and ensuring their voices are heard within the political arena, which endeavor will go a long way in strengthening the party through building a robust representation that resonates with the needs, and aspirations of the people in the targeted districts.
